Volunteering

Welcome, Valero MS 150 Volunteers!

Enthusiastic volunteers are key to the success of the Valero MS 150, the last largest group ride of its kind for the annual cycling season. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Lone Star Chapter needs 1,500 volunteers to help out during the San Antonio-to-Corpus Christi ride. Volunteering is a great way to help thousands of Texans living with MS, meet people and learn new skills.

  • Extra clothes, including shoes, socks and jacket

When should I arrive?

Arrive 30 minutes before your shift starts for time to park, check in and find your volunteer location. If it is around meal time, please be sure you have eaten prior to arriving so you can complete your full shift.

Where do I go when I arrive?

Go directly to the Volunteer Check-In booth.

What if it rains?

The Valero MS 150 rolls on rain or shine, so dress appropriately. If there’s a chance of rain, bring a poncho, umbrella, and a change of shoes and socks.

Will I get to eat?

Each volunteer receives a food wristband, so please eat before or after your shift. If you volunteer for more than four hours, please alert someone at Volunteer Check-In.

Wat do I do if I can’t make it?

Please try to fill your position with a friend or colleague, and then notify our office by calling (210 494 5531, option 2) or email tammy.travis@txh.nmss.org. However, if day of the event, have your replacement go to Volunteer Check-in and explain that they are there in place of you. Please try to give us 24 hours notice concern any change in your availability.
